Other polling sites

Hi there users,

I noticed today that dpoll launched. It’s a nice site and I think (like Yahoo) that both Quimble and dpoll have their place. I know I learned a lot by looking at how dpoll does things. They most certainly got some better instant press than I did.

I saw some comments at Techcrunch which were good for me, but were maybe a little hard on dpoll.

I had some application errors over the last couple of weeks. I know how hard that is. It’s especially tough trying to isolate those errors and figure out how to get it up quick… all while working a full-time job. That being said: I’d like to make Quimble as best it can be. I think I now know that I can make AJAX polls work on remote sites. Would that be something you are very interested in?

sorry, i fail to see how quimble is AJAX. if it were, then it would not require a form submission which redirects to the quimble site…??!!@@

Quimble has some light AJAX throughout the site, but: you’re right. The polls aren’t AJAX right now. What I was asking is if my users were interested in having AJAX forms for their sites with links back to Quimble for the discussion, trackback, etc.

Ajax blog polls just make sense. You can ask your readers a question without interrupting their reading. They keep the exact same view in their browser.

Well… I think there maybe some happy users in a few days ;-)
