Don’t Quibble with Quimble

So… I’m about half way through watching The Corporation. You can get it free on the internet now. GOOD FOR THEM! Finally someone getting the idea of free distribution means more profit.

The movie uses a combination of interesting statistics and scare tactics. Corporations have got away with a lot in these last hundred years. They have also done a lot of good. I’m all for limiting pollution, stopping harmful tactics, etc. I’m even for criminalizing the share-holders themselves (not just management) for truly sociopathic activity (e.g., knowingly killing people).

We have to understand that the Government (with a big G) is ALSO about maximizing profits and fashionability. Distributing responsibility is a good thing. Then we have a winnable target rather than an armed futile target. If Ford kills someone with an exploding gas tank there are recourses. If the USA does it, we still have to pay our taxes and have them continue.

Sorry for the rant. Watch the video. There is a lot of truth in the video. I’m interested in hearing both sides of the argument. I’m very into “wordly responsibility” in making a profit now days.
